About The Position

BASF is seeking a Logistics Technician CDL to join their Performance Materials team in Malcom, IA. The Performance Materials division focuses on sustainability transformation in plastics, co-creating innovative products for sectors like transportation, consumer goods, industrial applications, and construction, contributing to a sustainable future through advancements in thermal resistance, robustness, and lightweight applications. This role involves safely operating forklifts and semi-trucks to move materials between warehouses and production plants. The technician will also use computer systems for documentation, inventory tracking, and supporting internal workflows to maintain accurate records. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with operations, planning, and quality teams.

Requirements

  • Are Class A CDL certified
  • Hold good computer skills.
  • Possess attention to detail, good communication and time management skills.
  • Are able to work with little direction.
  • Are able and willing to lift up to 50lbs on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED with at least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting
  • Forklift experience and/or the ability to learn how to operate a forklift

Responsibilities

  • Work with operations to ensure material is delivered to the production plants in a timely manner.
  • Complete paperwork for necessary internal transfers.
  • Operate a semi-truck.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks.
  • Band and shrink wrap drums.
  • Label containers as required.
  • Complete other required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
