About The Position

Logistics Technicians support various tasks related to supply chain management, including managing warehouse inventory, coordinating transportation and storage of goods, while operating safely and efficiently. Logistics Technicians may operate a switcher truck to move trailers to appropriate outdoor dock doors/areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • Up to date Class A CDL required prior to hire
  • Must obtain and maintain CDL in order to perform switcher tasks as assigned
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
  • Able and willing to work any shift schedule needed
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of warehouse/forklift experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading of trucks and railcars using approved tools and methods, including driver assist for mill feed loading in a safe and efficient manner. Includes ascending and descending ladders on railcars, trucks, loadout towers, platforms, etc.
  • Perform and accurately record metal detector, magnet checks, safety checks, inspections, and other required paperwork
  • Accurate, timely communication with Shop Checker, railroad, Logistics Planner and Team Leader
  • Operate Warehouse Management System
  • Perform sanitation, cleaning and maintaining all loading areas, including railcars and equipment
  • Manage pallet count, rework, refeed processes and communications
  • This position will work in the Flour Mill performing sanitation duties when the department is fully staffed
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
  • Assist in training new employees
