Department: 36201 Union EMS - Ambulance Services Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Employee will work at least 40 hours within a standard two-week pay period upon successful completion of initial onboarding. Pay Range $22.90 - $34.35 Essential Functions · Performs routine maintenance of ambulances and other support vehicles. · Assists in set up and break down of MHPC Mobile Support Unit and related logistics functions. · Performs or schedules preventative maintenance where necessary. · Deploys vehicles in emergency situations as needed. · Keeps a record of Union EMS assets, equipment, and supplies. · Assists the operations division when requested by the operations supervisor. · Facilitates and communicates repairs that require specialized skills through outside vendors. · Orders equipment and medical supplies as necessary. · Oversees and maintains the supply room, and stock locations within the county. · Assists the operations division with restock of supplies and shift duties as necessary to ensure ambulances remain in a good state of readiness. · Ensures interior vehicle surfaces and environment are cleaned and disinfected as needed. · Works day-to-day under the direction of Logistics leadership to fulfill vehicle, supply, maintenance & preparedness tasks in a busy, 911 centered system. · Works with vendors to acquire durable and non-durable medical equipment, uniforms, and additional items deemed necessary to support operational readiness. · Research and evaluate variousproducts and equipment. · Functions within the National Incident Management System during scene operations to fill additional roles as necessary. · Follows established Union EMS policies and procedures. · Utilizes technology and programs / software specific to the operations of Union EMS. · Supports and participates in Union EMS sanctioned events as directed by Leadership. Physical Requirements Duties require good physical stamina, endurance, and body mechanics which would not be adversely affected by having to lift, carry, and balance at times more than 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance). Work in extreme environmental conditions with limited resources/support as well as emotional circumstances can be expected. Good motor coordination is required. Normal eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity is necessary to perform duties. Must also have good oral communication skills. Ability to independently lift and balance equipment weighing 56.7 kilograms (125 pounds). The ability to work effectively driving in extreme environmental conditions while fulfilling the essential functions listed above including, but not limited to icing conditions, snow, fog, torrential rainfall, limited visibility, and tropical storms. Education, Experience and Certifications High School Diploma or GED required. applicable state Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) preferred. Requires American Heart Association BCLS. Requires a valid applicable state Driver License, applicable state CDL Class B preferred. Obtains NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 within 6 months of hire.
