About The Position

Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) is a family business based in Tyler, Texas, and currently operates more than 202 stores in three states - Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma - with three distribution centers and a corporate office. The position involves cross-training in various logistics support tasks, focusing on areas such as receiving, releasing, inventory, and t-zone at various Company distribution center locations.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • One or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of WMS.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with partners and vendors.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and follows a control system to reduce damage, breakage and inventory obsolescence.
  • Reports shortages, overages for daily replenishment.
  • Completes physical inventory counts as required by set standards.
  • Reconciles the inventory records for a complete and accurate count.
  • Adjusts inventory errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reason for discrepancies.
  • Reports checker, selector and fork errors through reporting processes.
  • Performs other warehouse duties as required, including nightshift window and receiving clerk duties.
