About The Position

NeoGenomics is looking for a Logistics Supervisor for our lab in Aliso Viejo, CA who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager and/or Director, the Logistics Supervisor has the overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of all operational activities and personnel for the Logistics business function to ensure specimens arrive as requested by the customer. Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred or 5+ years equivalent logistics experience
  • Five+ years' experience in the logistics field and at two+ years of recent supervisory experience in the healthcare transportation industry preferred
  • Client services background preferred; prior experience in a clinical laboratory preferred
  • Direct logistics management experience and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of laboratories facilities maintenance policies and procedures
  • Valid CA state driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to move and lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
  • Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; evenings, weekends, holidays, and on call

Responsibilities

  • Conducts daily route planning based on customer needs ensuring service, cost, and productivity targets are met
  • Create purchase orders and process invoices in a timely manner
  • SOP creation and maintenance of existing SOPs
  • Provides regular updates to the Director/Manager of Logistics regarding resources and routing solution effectiveness
  • Collaborates with Sales, Client Services, and contracted vendors, to coordinate new client setups, courier route planning, and to ensure cost effective solutions are implemented for the clients and the Company
  • Interacts with personnel in Sales, Marketing, and Client Services, to address and resolve delivery service issues and to improve the safe and timely delivery of specimens
  • Ensures that pre-trip inspections, preventive maintenance care and safe equipment operating procedures are followed
  • Coordinates all vehicle maintenance with vendors to ensure vehicles function at optimal reliability and cost levels
  • Sets department objectives and performance goals; monitors personnel and resource utilization on an ongoing basis and makes adjustments in staffing to facilitate achievement of the goals and objectives
  • Supervises and participates in personnel management activities for the department; selects and hires personnel; conducts selection interviews, hiring, motivating and training employees
  • Maintains knowledge of CAP/CLIA requirements related to specimen delivery
  • Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and uniform policies, appearing neat and clean at all times
