About The Position

The Logistics Specialist ensures smooth, cost-effective movement of goods by coordinating inbound and outbound transportation, maintaining shipment visibility, administering carrier and vendor relationships, and resolving escalated service issues. You will support freight claims and billing, maintain ERP records, and drive improvements that raise on-time performance and reduce costs. This is a Hybrid Position (Monday & Friday Remote)

Requirements

  • Prior logistics/transportation experience (freight coordination, claims, or carrier billing).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; comfortable with data entry, filters, and basic formulas.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or other ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with internal teams and external carriers/vendors.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work with a sense of urgency, and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Familiarity with ocean and air freight processes and terminology.
  • Exposure to carrier contracting and rate audits.
  • Experience creating SOPs and implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and Logistics Support: Work with suppliers to schedule inbound trucks via the appropriate mode of transportation based on the routing guide.
  • Shipment Visibility: Track and trace ocean and air freight movements to maintain delivery performance.
  • Transportation Coordination: Monitor traffic inbox for logistics requests, including letters of authorization and reconsignment activities.
  • Claims Management: Process and track freight claims internally and with carriers to ensure timely resolution.
  • Vendor and Account Administration: Coordinate new vendor setup and maintain accurate address book records.
  • Freight and Billing Oversight: Review and code carrier invoices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Resolve Customer Service Issue Escalations: working with customer service to create SOPs for common issues that can be implemented to improve first call resolution and reduce the number of escalations entered via our EPOST system.
  • Other tasks as assigned
