Logistics Specialist
About The Position
Under appropriate supervision with latitude for independent judgment, the carrier representative performs a variety of assignments, both clerical and technical. You will be responsible for the coordination of goods shipped from origin to destination. Must be able to communicate effectively with drivers and vendors to ensure the efforts of the ILS team meet the goals of the customer. Develop capacity solutions in order to support the needs of our customer. Maintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts and identify opportunities for additional revenue. Conduct calls with carriers to determine driver availability and negotiate transportation rates. Directs drivers and give appropriate information with regards to pick up and delivery locations. Ensure that specific customer load requirements are met on committed and/or transactional shipments. Assists as needed with developing invoicing data, and coordinates this information with accounts payable. Provide exceptional service to contracted carriers and internal customers. Requirements
- Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Experience with computers is helpful, including knowledge of Excel and Access programs
- Be knowledgeable with regard to transportation industry
- Final candidates must possess a solid work history, pass pre-employment background and post offer drug screen/physical
