Logistics Specialist

About the position

Superior Plus Propane has a career opportunity for a Logistics Specialist who would become responsible for the efficient distribution of liquid products within their region. This includes maintaining systems data, routing and supporting delivery drivers, maintaining effective system forecasting, and reporting distribution metrics to superiors. As a Logistics Specialist, you will work closely with field operations to improve efficiency with deliveries, as well as resource and demand planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and professional communication with field operations staff and customers.
• Work with field operations and the Center of Excellence to ensure customer data integrity, proper customer set up and forecasting factor accuracy.
• Determine the most efficient delivery methods and schedules to meet customer needs.
• Build base routes for drivers in centrally supported locations while adhering to the distribution standard operating procedures.
• Make recommendations to field operations regarding drivers and trucks needed weekly, to maximize fill rates, reduce low fuels and Out of Gas (OOGs), and increase efficiencies.
• Provide reporting on previous day's routes to assist field operations with adherence to the process, improving driver efficiency, ultimately resulting in improved customer experience.
• Maintain records and databases as appropriate to facilitate continuous improvement.
• Managing account and forecasting variables determining optimal delivery window.
• Establishing and monitoring product delivery schedules; tracking, recording and following-up shipments.
• Managing relationships with transport department; loading, unloading and transporting products.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• College Education
• 4 years' related experience
• Great communication skills
