About The Position

Valley Cooperative Association (VCA) is a member-owned Cooperative focused on providing the finest baking & brewing ingredients, supplies, and business services. VCA maximizes success through customized and highly responsive service, and delivery of food ingredients, products, and packaging. The Logistics Sales Representative is responsible for selling logistics services to customers that need to transport goods. The goal is to acquire new customers and manage existing accounts to ensure ongoing business.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business - preferred but not required.
• One (1) year MINIMUM in logistics.
• Good analytical and creative problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail skills.
• Prior negotiation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively pursue and qualify valued VLS business opportunities; implement successful selling strategies/techniques.
• Check Calls, confirming appointments for pickup and delivery as well as confirm delivery and update internal systems.
• Prospect and secure new business and secure appropriate transportation modes.
• Assume responsibility for every aspect of freight shipments and use technology to track for multiple customers using a variety of transportation modes.
• Effectively negotiate freight rates and increase profitability on all loads.
