About The Position

Coordinate daily delivery routes for up to 45 or more CDL drivers serving approximately 4800 or more home patient customers across multiple states; Monitor delivery schedules and resolve delivery method issues in real time; Generate routing solutions and maintain accurate routing databases; Prepare and distribute daily paperwork for all fleet and commercial drivers; Collaborate with third party logistics teams to ensure correct picking, staging, sequencing, and checking of products for delivery; Work with internal partners including sales, customer service, routing, service specialists, and credit and collections to finalize delivery details; Serve as the first point of contact for driver delivery issues and exceptions; Communicate with home patients, clinic nurses, and internal teams on delivery changes, returns, special requirements, and redeliveries; Update order information and progression notes for all delivery changes or discrepancies; Ensure driver qualification documentation, logs, fuel trip reports, tax reporting, timecards, and expense reports meet all State and Federal DOT requirements; Participate in the scheduling of vacations, holidays, and unplanned events using a rolling 12 week calendar; Audit freight bills, process property claims, and recommend carriers when necessary; Make alternate transportation arrangements during exceptions or service disruptions Position Overview The Department Specialist II supports a high volume home patient delivery operation spanning several facilities, multiple commercial and private fleet drivers, and thousands of home patient customers across large geographic regions. This role ensures timely transportation and delivery of products, resolves delivery issues, and provides the operational coordination required to maintain efficient daily routing. The Specialist analyzes distribution patterns, cost impacts, and resource constraints, developing practical solutions that improve operational performance and meet patient delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in transportation, distribution, logistics, or related operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior distribution or transportation industry experience.
  • Experience with route planning software, logistics platforms, or compliance systems such as JJ Keller.
