About The Position

The Logistics Planner at BakeMark is responsible for coordinating and planning inbound, outbound, direct-ship, and backhaul shipments using a transportation management system (TMS). This role ensures timely tendering of loads, resolves order issues, and collaborates with various teams to maintain efficient logistics operations. The position requires strong analytical skills to monitor data, negotiate rates, and propose shipping methods that optimize costs and service levels.

Requirements

• Minimum 2-5 years of logistics and dispatch work experience.
• Basic knowledge of Supply Chain and Logistics.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred but not required.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
• Ability to manage priorities with minimal guidance.
• Self-starter with initiative and teamwork skills.
• Ability to read and analyze KPI reports and technical data.

Nice To Haves

• Project management skills.
• Prior experience with ERP and TMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Utilize TMS to coordinate and plan shipments.
• Ensure timely tendering of loads for purchase and sales orders.
• Resolve and escalate issues when orders are not confirmed as tendered.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting teams to ensure smooth order processing.
• Monitor data concerning routing locations, carrier rates, and vendor allowances.
• Manage transportation activities to and from vendors, branches, or customers.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and retender orders as necessary.
• Ensure data integrity throughout TMS.
• Analyze shipping methods and propose improvements.
• Audit invoices and generate documents for TMS carrier invoicing.
• Create reports and metrics related to the TMS program.
• Evaluate carriers based on service, rates, and responsiveness.
• Coordinate freight claim preparation and make settlement recommendations.
• Develop and implement new business processes related to TMS.
