About The Position

The Logistics Operator plays a crucial role in managing the incoming and outgoing product receipts at marine facilities, ensuring efficient operations based on customer demand and storage capabilities. This position requires real-time decision-making to mitigate potential conflicts and maintain accurate inventory records, all while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The operator will work 12-hour shifts and is expected to handle complex paperwork and coordinate with various internal teams to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus general industry or operations experience.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in marine scheduling, inventory, pipeline scheduling, or terminal operations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various groups and customers.
  • Ability to make real-time decisions under pressure and prioritize assignments.
  • Proficiency in creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets.

Nice To Haves

  • Marine scheduling and/or inventory experience.
  • Pipeline scheduling and/or inventory experience.
  • Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor product movement schedules and oversee incoming and outgoing product movements via various transport methods.
  • Maintain an accurate schedule of traffic and customer demand, adjusting as necessary.
  • Communicate changes to the Terminal Operator Lead and Marine Logistics Analyst.
  • Coordinate product movements effectively with the Terminal Operator Lead.
  • Interact with internal teams to satisfy customer requests and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor product inventory levels and control system flow using company computer systems.
  • Analyze product inventory against tank capacity and scheduled movements.
  • Make real-time decisions about tank space for incoming product receipts.
  • Interface with shift operations and maintenance personnel for safe and efficient product movement.
  • Ensure proper completion and handling of complex paperwork related to product movements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed.
  • Perform mainline operations of pumping units and operate refined and crude product pumps as time allows.
  • Conduct product sampling and analysis using in-house lab equipment.
  • Gauge products transferred to and from various transport methods and perform valve lineups as required.
  • Maintain facility appearance and compliance, performing general maintenance as directed.
