About The Position

The Logistics Operator II is responsible for safely moving product using powered industrial equipment. The role involves filling orders from tickets according to set quotas, operating powered industrial equipment while following UNITED safety policy, verifying all product/full goods/raw materials incoming and outgoing, stacking loads properly, and correctly rotating product/materials. The operator will also manually fill orders by walking and using pallet jacks and/or riding jacks, identify products by description and quantity, and carry them to the staging area. Additional responsibilities include checking for accuracy in picking, general housekeeping, completing daily powered equipment inspection forms, reading customer orders, sorting and placing materials on pallets, marking materials with identifying information, recording amounts of materials received or distributed, and maintaining the scrubber in good condition. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Less than high school education; or up to 1 month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Forklift and electric riding pallet jack experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to work safely and securely
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required

Responsibilities

  • Fills orders from tickets according to set quotas

  • Stacks loads properly
  • Correctly rotates product/materials
  • Fills orders manually by walking and using pallet jack and/or riding jacks
  • Identifies product by description and quantity and carries it to the staging area
  • Checks for accuracy in picking
  • Maintains general housekeeping
  • Completes daily powered equipment inspection form
  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Sorts and places materials or items on pallets according to predetermined sequence
  • Marks materials with identifying information
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
  • Counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to Company standards
  • Fills up scrubber with water and keeps it in good condition
  • Cleans out trap when needed
  • Leaves scrubber empty at end of shift
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
