About The Position

The Logistics Operations Planner responsible for coordinating transportation and planning activities while providing visibility to logistics KPI and identifying opportunities to improve service, cost, and process efficiency. This role partners closely with Customer Service, Planning, Warehousing, Procurement and carriers to ensure routes, customer commitments, and inventory movements are aligned. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Microsoft Dynamics 365, building and optimizing loads, and using data to drive decisions even when analytics tools are limited.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain preferred.
  • Proven excellent analytic and computer skills required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in value added financial and or operational analysis.
  • Experience in manufacturing, transportation, or other areas related to logistics and supply chain required.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Must have good vision and manual dexterity.
  • Able to sit / stand for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Availability to work weekends as necessary to support business needs
  • Company provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn while on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and build outbound loads in Microsoft D365, ensuring optimal truck utilization, service compliance, and cost efficiency for all manufacturing sites and warehouses.
  • Partner closely with Customer Service to communicate route impacts, service risks, and execution changes in real time.
  • Track and analyze inbound, outbound, and transfer freight data to identify cost reduction and service improvement opportunities.
  • Provide monthly details on Home Market Foods freight $/lb., total FTC shipment costs, $/pallet in S&H, and overall Freight and Warehousing budgets as well as the corresponding YEE.
  • Develop tools, models, and manual data capture methods when analytics platforms are not available, ensuring data driven decision making continues.
  • Manages OpenDoc appointment along with Microsoft D365
  • Provide recommendations and execute necessary inventory transfers for demand replenishment.
  • Dispatch outbound shipments and provide monthly report on cost, variances, and route optimization.
  • Super User level ability within HMF ERP system, and other technology based enabling systems.
  • Serve as a functional super user for D365 and other logistics technology platforms, supporting system enhancements and user training.
  • Support the logistics cost saving and service level improvement ideas and execution.
  • Create network warehouse and transportation capacity models and daily measurement tools.
  • Act as backup for the Logistics Manager when required, including coordination, scheduling, and escalation support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
