The Logistics Operations Manager will oversee Carrier's Replacement Components' 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) Distribution Centers in the US, managing both Carrier employees and a large team of 3PL associates. The role focuses on meeting business goals, providing excellent service to customers, and supporting strategic objectives related to product storage and shipping.

  • Oversees Carrier's RC primary DC in Chattanooga, Tennessee and additional RC DCs and/or Forward Stocking Locations within the US.
  • Provides oversight and direction to 3PL account and its 300+ associates for all RC business to ensure compliance with existing Service Level Agreements.
  • Works closely with 3PL to establish daily goals and track performance to daily targets.
  • Manages a small Carrier team to support Receiving Exceptions, Financial Reporting, E&O dispositioning, warehouse quality, and day-to-day operations.
  • Accountable for the development and implementation of the capacity management process, including identification of capacity gaps and requirements for warehouse space.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of plans to minimize risks for shortages/overages and ensures overall successful DC quality process to reduce customer DC escapes.
  • Responsible for engagement with Carrier management to report on daily progress and communicate obstacles to success.
  • Works cross-functionally between material planning, procurement, engineering, transportation, customer service, etc. to ensure alignment to business goals and resolve challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree of science or arts.
  • 5+ years experience in Logistics / Supply Chain.
  • 5+ years experience in warehouse management.
  • 2+ years people management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestically and in North America).
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP and/or JDA/Blue Yonder.
  • Certified in Six Sigma or some Lean Principles.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a history of influencing multiple levels of the organization.
  • Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated database systems.
  • Proven ability to succeed in the day-to-day management of sustaining and strategic priorities.
  • Technical knowledge/understanding of the HVAC product industry or ability to learn expeditiously.
  • Passionate about eliminating problems before they occur or after only one occurrence.
  • Strong leadership skills including the capability to drive improvement and challenge the status quo.
