About The Position

Amentum is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Logistics Modernization Lead Subject Matter Expert. This position is central to the modernization and transformation efforts of a multifaceted, cross-functional logistics team. The team is dedicated to developing the Army's newest combat vehicle platform, the XM30, within the Army’s Product Manager, XM30, Program Executive Office (PEO) Ground Combat Systems (GCS) office. The selected candidate will act as the primary focal point for both current and future logistics and sustainment planning initiatives. This involves extensive coordination with numerous external agencies and organizations to ensure comprehensive support for the cross-functional team. A key responsibility will be the development and implementation of detailed logistics and sustainment transformation and modernization plans, including defining actions and milestones. Furthermore, the Lead will supervise the execution of these plans, continuously assess their effectiveness, and refine them as necessary to adapt to evolving program needs. This role offers the opportunity to be involved from the inception of the Army’s newest weapon system. The position is based on-site at Detroit Arsenal, and additional duties may be assigned to support client and contract deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in modernization, strategic planning, predictive logistics, procurement, and/or supply chain management.
  • Experience with managing and performing data analytics to increase efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain design concepts, analyze and solve problems, prepare presentations, and receive feedback.
  • Excellent collaboration, multi-tasking and communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and organize work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Active Secret US Government Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to maintain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-7 years of logistics, strategic planning, and defense projects and must have experience working within Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command TACOM.
  • Experience with integrating artificial intelligence and/or machine learning processes to gain efficiencies.
  • Experience with Python Programming language.
  • Familiar with Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES) Defense Acquisition University Logistics Course graduate.
  • Experience with AGILE processes.
  • Experience or familiarity with Java Script.
  • Experience with automotive or large platform maintenance and sustainment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary focal point for logistics and sustainment planning, ensuring seamless coordination between internal teams and external stakeholders for this program.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive logistics and sustainment transformation and modernization plans, including actionable milestones and deliverables.
  • Supervise the execution of transformation plans, continuously assess their effectiveness, and refine strategies to adapt to evolving program needs.
  • Coordinate with both internal and multiple external stakeholders to align efforts and secure resources for cross-functional team success.
  • Lead the identification of innovative solutions and technologies to modernize logistics processes and enhance sustainment capabilities for the combat vehicle platform.
  • Provide strategic guidance to leadership on transformation initiatives, present data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Oversee the integration of logistics and sustainment requirements into the overall vehicle platform development lifecycle, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by fostering open communication and resolving conflicts or barriers to progress among diverse teams.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in logistics and sustainment to keep the program at the forefront of innovation.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to senior leadership and external partners on transformation progress and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with Army regulations, policies, and standards in all logistics and sustainment planning and execution activities.
  • Develop the planning, managing, controlling, directing, and coordination of logistics.
