About The Position

The Material Handler/Forklift Driver performs a full range of warehousing activities to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping bulk and bin materials and equipment. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Assists in the development of plans for storage and arrangement of stock to determine warehouse configuration, setup, movement, rearrangement and traffic flow. Lay out storage space, establish item locations, determine organization and arrangement of stock, identify high and low usage items. Prepares items for processing, utilizing SAP and bar code reader to read, store, track and prepare material documentation. Ensures formal accountability when receiving, storing or issuing. Ensures that special documentation remains with the materials throughout the storage/issue process. Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within docking area. Operates forklifts to move materials. Identifies shipping and receiving documents for discrepancies and directs shipments to shipping or storage areas. Determines physical condition and serviceability of material and property. Checks stock numbers and part numbers in supply catalogs to adequately identify property. Advises supervisor about inconsistent shipment information, defective material or property, and damage from shipping. Recommends action to be taken. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Material Handling, inventory and logistics.
  • Capable of operating multiple styles/types of forklifts
  • Able to track inventory of raw and finished goods.
  • Minor knowledge of OSHA and workplace health and safety programs.
  • 3 years of forklift experience required.
  • Shipping and Receiving experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferred in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership skills and experience.
  • Experience preferred in problem solving tasks such as 5Y and 8D.
  • Experience preferred with Layered Process Audits.
  • Experience preferred with Cycle Counts
