Requirements

  • High-school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role within logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics software, transportation systems and best practices.
  • Proven track record of ensuring compliance with DOT transportation laws, safety standards and company policies.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills to address issues related to logistics systems, transportation delays and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Transportation Manager (CTM) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages logistics operations for a defined market or territory including schedule coordination, load planning, driver dispatching, and the timely distribution of finished goods to jobsites.
  • Assists in tracking shipments and ensuring on-time and in full deliveries.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of local, state and federal transportation laws, and safety and compliance standards and requirements.
  • Ensures daily operations comply with company risk management policies and assists in maintaining required documentation and records.
  • Develops and adjusts delivery routes to maximize efficiency, minimize transportation costs and meet project schedule.
  • Communicates route changes to drivers and monitors progress to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Provides excellent service to customers and resolves routine transportation & logistics issues promptly to maintain high service levels.
  • Coordinates daily assignments for drivers and provides on-the-job training and guidance to support team efficiency and safety standards.
  • Assists with tracking key logistics metrics, such as delivery times, costs and incident reports.
  • Prepares basic reports and provides insights to support continuous process improvements.
  • Monitors logistics-related expenses and identifies routine areas for potential cost savings.
  • Supports leadership by maintaining accurate records of dual usage, maintenance and other operational costs.
  • Participates in identifying and suggesting improvements to logistics processes, focusing on service enhancements, cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
