About The Position

Reporting to the Site Logistics Manager, the Associate Logistics Manager is a key position enabling successful execution of logistics strategies necessary for providing exceptional customer service both internal to the MARS network and externally to our customers. The position is responsible for executing inbound and/or outbound operations supporting the manufacturing facility. Included in is directing the leads and associates in receiving, line take away, and warehousing in order to optimize all logistics assets at the site. Managing safety, continuous improvement, productivity, customer order management, yard movement, and shipment quality are in scope for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level
  • Experience in Warehouse management, inventory control
  • 2+ years of managing people
  • Experience with SAP, JDA, WMS, Quality Management systems, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, coach, motivate and lead team
  • Ability to drive positive change in both processes, systems, and culture
  • Strong computer skills (excel, word, powerpoint, Nexus)
  • Flexibility to adapt to regularly changing priorities and quality issues

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 25-30 associates
  • Direct day to day activities of warehouse operations and yard spotting teams ensuring all loads are loaded safety and on time.
  • Direct day to day activities of Inbound and product sampling teams to ensure they are following agreed procedures and meeting the needs of the business.
  • Develops and maintains root cause corrective action procedures including trend analysis resulting in driving process improvements
  • Maintain daily staffing plans including contingency plans for operations (unscheduled absentees, customer issues, system malfunctions, equipment issues, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed performance targets (Inbound quality and production impacts, on time loading, associate pallets/hour, CCMS quality)
  • Lead teams to ensure process adherence to systems such as SAP, RP, and JDA.
  • Support management of forklift fleet used by IB and OB operations.
  • Support other site responsibilities as necessary.
