About The Position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of inbound (receiving), quality assurance (QA), cleaning, warehousing, and outbound (shipping) for our main distribution warehouse in Houston, Texas. This role ensures that operations meet service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and company objectives while optimizing productivity and continuous improvement initiatives. The Logistics Manager is also responsible for communicating logistics interruptions, managing inventory accuracy, and leading a high-performing team to drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of warehouse and logistics best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics technology.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive performance improvements using key metrics.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or rental equipment industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management software.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in medical device logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound receiving operations, ensuring accurate and efficient unloading, inspection, and storage of rental medical equipment.
  • Manage outbound shipping processes to ensure timely delivery of equipment to hospital partners.
  • Implement and enforce quality control and equipment cleaning procedures to meet industry compliance standards (Joint Commission, AAMI, OSHA).
  • Maintain an efficient and organized warehouse, optimizing layout, storage, and retrieval processes.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for inventory control to ensure accuracy and availability of equipment.
  • Establish and enforce policies for handling, storing, and distributing equipment in alignment with regulatory and company guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage logistics KPIs, including order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive productivity and efficiency improvements by implementing best practices and process enhancements.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks or operational inefficiencies in logistics workflows.
  • Implement and manage a continuous improvement framework within the warehouse.
  • Develop and execute strategies for cost reduction and operational optimization.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor warehouse and logistics personnel to ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety within the logistics team.
  • Effectively communicate operational updates, disruptions, and resolutions to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with customer service, supply chain, and biomedical service teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage labor resources effectively, adjusting schedules and assignments as necessary to meet business demands.
