The Logistics Manager plans, directs, controls, coordinates and evaluates logistics management functions, oversees the logistics requirements necessary to support operations of assigned product rollouts and marketing initiatives. This role manages and coordinates the day to day domestic and export logistics operations, developing and maintaining carrier delivery metrics and freight reporting to measure carrier service performance and monthly freight spend.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years on the supervising role
  • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx and DHL systems are required for domestic and International shipments as well as LTL & FTL carriers.
  • The role requires planning skills to work across functional teams to set up logistics and ensure flawless execution to customers.
  • Have good knowledge of retail and distribution requirements to meet both Optoma and customer needs and to continue driving improvements to the current model.
  • Ability to manage, understand and set goals for 3PL partners to improve existing business model efficiencies, increase output and reduce cost.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and Word, in order to create pivot tables, graphs and summary reports.
  • Oracle/NetSuite experience.
  • Qualified to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of all Logistics daily operational goals inclusive of Shipping functions and Inventory Management.
  • Develop and initiate monthly reports having required project timelines, corporate metrics and productivity measurements.
  • Lead training, hiring, career development and enrichment of all department associates.
  • Support inventory management consisting of reconciling and maintaining of finished goods inventory by sku along with lot date at 3PL warehouse locations.
  • Establish and manage relations with warehouses, ocean carriers, customs broker, drayage providers, sales force and customers.
  • Analyze and log purchase orders commensurate to existing stock availability and reduce shipping cost.
  • Oversee and monitor availability of stock to reduce shortages.
  • Negotiate and support logistics costs meant for 3rd party logistics providers assisting yearly budget goals.
  • Ensure to process orders and on-time delivery by network of courier companies and warehouses.
  • Plan and arrange logistics required shipments.
  • Support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate logistics and enhance efficiencies.
  • Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to top management.
  • Assist audits of vendor invoices and month-end processing to incorporate finance accruals.
  • Head team to develop, articulate and maintain logistic process documentation.
  • Assist in the management and supervision of the inventory control functions by a logistic specialist.
  • Maintain accountability of all system-wide inventories and maintain visibility on the disposition of every SKU.
  • Clearly communicate and manage priorities within the Logistics team and chosen 3PL’s
  • Foster communication between related roles and departments (ex: resource schedulers, those responsible for version control and Bills of Material, Tool Support, Purchasing, Operations, R&D and Production Departments)
  • Institute version control on SCM documentation to correlate to active asset versions (checklists, LOI’s, Customs Aid documents, etc)
  • Process fixed asset requests for reservation, manage scheduling, anticipate challenges and elevate conflicts.
  • Create shipping LOI’s for domestic and international shipments (Handling SEDs, HTS issues)
  • Oversee daily import-export activities
  • Work closely with Tool Support to prioritize their maintenance activities based on operations schedule and required ship dates
  • Make decisions to achieve efficiencies, set goals and monitor the success via monthly reporting and data analysis
  • Focus on team building and mentorship of those in and out of immediate office/department
  • Create and report on partner KPI’s
  • Oversee warehouse partnerships
  • Develop corporate SO’s; education and compliance monitoring
  • Offer suggestions for cost savings opportunities on an per-shipment basis
  • Make recommendations for strategic asset placement to support forecasted and historical demand
  • Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of management systems to train and instruct, and to control the flow of information
