About The Position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all hotel and technical freight movements across the Windstar fleet to ensure timely, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery to vessels worldwide. This role manages the end‑to‑end logistics lifecycle—including freight budgeting, carrier management, routing strategy, customs coordination, and invoice reconciliation—across multiple markets and regions in a fast‑paced, operationally critical environment. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain & Logistics, the Logistics Manager plays a key role in supporting fleet operations by aligning logistics execution with vessel schedules, loading plans, and operational priorities. The position requires strong cross‑functional coordination with onboard teams, port agents, procurement, technical operations, and finance, while maintaining rigorous cost control and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of international logistics experience, preferably in maritime, cruise, hospitality, or complex global supply chain environments.
  • Proven experience managing freight movements across multiple regions and transportation modes.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating carrier contracts and managing competitive bid processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, freight costs, and invoice reconciliation.
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and reporting tools; strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under tight timelines and operational pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Cruise line or maritime logistics experience.
  • Familiarity with AMOS and MXP purchasing systems.
  • Experience coordinating logistics for dry docks, remote ports, or complex customs environments.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all hotel and technical freight movements to meet vessel loading schedules, voyage timelines, and operational requirements.
  • Recommend and select appropriate shipping methods, routing strategies, and carriers to balance cost, reliability, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage published fleet‑wide loading and consolidation schedules across all ships and operating regions.
  • Prioritize logistics activities to ensure on‑time delivery in a dynamic, multi‑market operating environment.
  • Negotiate contracted terms, service levels, and freight rates with global logistics providers and freight forwarders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with logistics partners, port agents, customs brokers, and service providers.
  • Monitor carrier performance and proactively address service issues, delays, or cost variances.
  • Manage and oversee hotel and technical freight budgets in alignment with annual plans and operational forecasts.
  • Review, reconcile, and approve monthly freight invoices per vessel and per voyage in accordance with accounting guidelines.
  • Track freight spend, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate tracking, counts, and reporting of Windstar‑owned inventory across all storage locations and transit points.
  • Manage and track vessel landings in accordance with approved processes and documentation standards.
  • Ensure freight documentation and inventory records are accurate, timely, and audit‑
  • Monitor and manage import/export processes to ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and legal standards.
  • Coordinate pre‑alerts, customs clearance documentation, and inbound/outbound freight requirements with vessels, port agents, and internal teams.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter resource for customs, regulatory, and documentation issues impacting fleet logistics.
  • Act as the primary logistics liaison between vessels, port agents, and shoreside teams, including Supply Chain, Hotel Operations, Technical Operations, and Finance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish best practices, standard operating procedures, and cost‑control initiatives.
  • Support special projects, dry docks, deployment changes, and ad‑hoc initiatives as assigned by the Director.
