About The Position

The Logistics Manager will oversee and optimize the entire logistics and supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring the efficient movement and storage of goods from suppliers to customers. This role is critical in managing warehousing, inventory control, and international shipping processes to meet production and delivery schedules. In addition to core logistics responsibilities, the Logistics Manager will apply strong financial acumen to manage budgets, analyze cost efficiencies, and drive profitability across logistics and transportation operations. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies for reverse logistics to handle returns and recycling, minimizing waste and cost. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, production, finance, and sales to align logistics activities with business and financial objectives. Ultimately, the Logistics Manager will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proven expertise in warehouse management, inventory control, and international shipping procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, including reverse logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency with logistics software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecast expenses, and perform cost-benefit analysis for logistics operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management such as APICS CPIM or CSCP.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements.
  • Familiarity with global trade compliance and customs regulations.
  • Previous leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
  • Advanced skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day logistics operations including warehousing, transportation, and distribution activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished products.
  • Coordinate international shipping processes, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and optimizing freight costs and transit times.
  • Oversee inventory control systems to maintain accurate stock levels, reduce shrinkage, and support production requirements.
  • Develop and implement reverse logistics strategies to efficiently handle product returns, repairs, and recycling efforts.
  • Lead and mentor logistics team members, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to resolve logistics issues and improve supply chain performance.
  • Analyze financial performance of logistics operations, tracking KPIs such as freight spend, warehousing costs, and inventory carrying costs.
  • Prepare budget forecasts and cost reports, recommending strategies to reduce expenses and improve margins.
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives by identifying cost-saving opportunities in transportation and vendor contracts.
  • Work with finance and procurement teams to align logistics planning with company budget cycles and profitability goals.
