About The Position

With operations in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, we manufacture softwood and hardwood lumber, particleboard, and hardboard siding. The Logistics Manager oversees and coordinates key aspects of logistics in the company. This individual collaborates with sales and customer service teams to ensure supplies are stocked and delivered to customers in a timely manner; implements and maintains operating policies on general logistics and product procedures; and optimizes and maintains inventory based on demand and supply chain activities. This individual manages the key aspects of logistics and inventory management to ensure cost optimized use of internal and external storage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, or engineering.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of logistics and inventory software.
  • Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.
  • Ability to calculate freight.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

  • Relevant industry-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze the logistics processes and operational solutions used in distributing goods and services.
  • Oversee the entire process of a shipment, from acquisition to delivery.
  • Assure goods and services are distributed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, and related information to determine logistics and support requirements such as facility details, staffing needs, and safety and maintenance plans.
  • Develop and maintain metrics and reporting to identify and evaluate performance and process improvement strategies to maximize cost savings and minimize product shortages and wrong shipments.
  • Manage and report on all logistic processes including inventory, warehouse, reload, and transportation.
  • Manage logistics technology for effective and efficient support of products, equipment, system manufacturing, and services.
  • Develop new strategies to streamline workflow processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity and efficiency of operations.
  • Ensure that quality, quantity, customer satisfaction, and financial commitments are met.
  • Partner, communicate, and negotiate with manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, and internal and external customers for optimal growth of the department.
  • Create and manage budgets.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain materials requirements planning and customer forecasts.
  • Collaborate with sales and customer operations team for planning and execution of supplier orders and related management.
  • Provide weekly sales report to product and sales team.
  • Monitor warehouse and storage functionality while products are stored.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
