About The Position

The Logistics Management Specialist serves in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent unit, providing essential logistical support across various areas including supply, procurement, property accountability, and transportation. The role involves planning and directing supply distribution activities, identifying supply issues, and establishing operational procedures for the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP).

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience in logistics management, including developing and executing programs for logistical resources.
• Experience providing guidance on logistical matters to units within the organization.
• Experience in supply, procurement, property accountability, transportation, and maintenance/facilities.
• Ability to conduct staff visits and prepare special and recurring reports.
• Knowledge of recommending the disposition or redistribution of excess equipment/materiel.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a related field.
• Experience in federal service at the GS-07 level or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff logistical support in areas such as supply, procurement, property accountability, transportation, equipment, maintenance, food service, and/or lodging.
• Review requisitions submitted through automated logistics systems.
• Plan for and direct activities concerned with supply distribution and use of unit equipment.
• Identify supply problem areas and determine required corrective action.
• Provide input to budget requests submitted by subordinate units for logistical requirements.
• Provide information to leadership on the findings of evaluations, reports, and summaries.
• Establish procedures for operation of the Command Supply Discipline Program (CSDP) and conduct training for subordinate elements.
