About The Position

This is a position with the 79th Theater Sustainment Command, 103rd Mission Support Element, 103rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, located in Des Moines, Iowa.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience which includes the planning, coordinating, or evaluating of logistical actions or programs required to support the unit's needs.
• Capability of integrating individual logistical program management in areas of supply, maintenance, transportation, and/or food service.
• Developing the command's logistics budget.
• Must have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities concerned with receipt, storage, and issue of supplies.
• Ensure policies concerning property accountability, facilities, food service, transportation and movement of material are followed.
• Assign work to subordinates based on the capabilities of employee.
• Identify training needs of employees to ensure compliance with the current policy.
• Provide guidance to employees on both work and administrative matters.
• Analyze reports for logistical requirements to support operations of the command.
• Advise the commander and staff on logistic status and support needed.
• Provide guidance for formulating budget estimates.
• Conduct periodic and special staff visits throughout the command.
• Develop new policies for increasing efficiency and economy of logistics systems.
• Formulate program guidance in coordination with the Department of Army regulations.
