About The Position
The Logistics Management Specialist serves as a regional petroleum logistics operations, planning, and intelligence analyst within the DLA Energy Plans and Operations Division. This role is critical in providing comprehensive regional assessments and reports of a designated theater of operations by reviewing information related to logistic operations for military operations and exercises. The specialist performs detailed analysis on fuel stock data in the Inventory Management Plan (IMP) and recommends necessary revisions to stock levels to enhance DLA Energy's ability to support Department of Defense (DoD) requirements. In addition to analytical tasks, the specialist leads or participates as a technical expert in interagency study groups aimed at resolving existing problems in petroleum logistics management, which often require innovative solutions. The role also involves preparing briefings to advise customers, top-level DoD logistic managers, and senior DLA leadership concerning overall operational plans and proposals. This position is essential for ensuring that logistics operations are efficient and effective, directly impacting military readiness and operational success.
