About The Position

CAE USA is seeking a highly experienced Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) Level IV to join our Logistics Engineering team. This role is critical to establishing lifecycle logistics processes, provisioning strategies and long-term sustainment for all CAE USA training devices. The Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) Level IV, will leverage a strong background in aircraft and simulation product supportability and will support programs through the entire product life cycle, including design, manufacturing, testing, delivery/acceptance and sustainment phases. The Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) Level IV will work closely with hardware and software engineering teams, program management, supply chain, and the purchasing group to align logistics deliverables with program objectives and customer requirements. The Logistics Management Specialist (LMS) Level IV, will define, analyze, and manage the supportability and maintainability requirements of military systems and formalize this information into Logistics Management Information (LMI) deliverables.

Requirements

  • BS/BA/BT degree or equivalent experience – master’s degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of applicable experience related to logistic objectives, goals, and trends for life cycle management of systems through analysis of operational and maintenance data.
  • PC literacy is required (MS Office Suite, minimum of Excel, Word and Access).
  • Adaptive to working in an integrated product team environment.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Possesses average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret logistics data/documentation, technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures.
  • Ability to present information, asks questions, and responds to questions from managers and customers.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
  • Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and draw and interpret graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Simulation experience is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the functional fields in logistics engineering planning (requirements, capabilities, lead times, and costs) with enough depth, to enable proper analysis of the information that is obtained.
  • Performing data analysis and coordination of information, including submission of required logistics Contract Data Requirements lists (CDRL’s) for U.S. Government and Foreign Military Sales contracts.
  • Perform logistics engineering provisioning and documentation research and analyses providing recommendations and/or deliverable products supporting contractual logistics engineering requirements.
  • Prepare inputs for review and update Maintenance Plans, Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Logistics Support Analysis Plans/Records and other logistics engineering related documentation (provisioning and technical support packages).
  • Create standard operating procedures and work instructions related to assigned duties.
  • Interface with Engineering Logistics Manager, Program Managers, Chief Engineers and other design/system engineers.
  • Assist junior logisticians in performing complex logistics efforts, such as data collection of reliability and/or maintainability information, researching the Bill of Materials and site requisitions for specific information and vendor recommendations, and NSN searches using automated tools.
  • Monitor procurement processes / activities to ensure expeditious processing of material
  • Track material requisitions through procurement process from program request through delivery to site
  • Develop and maintain lists of spares usage and associated costs and identify trends for Program Managers
  • Receive training/guidance related to unfamiliar logistics engineering areas with the intent to further increase skill level to broaden experience base and receive less supervision in tasking.
  • Train, guide, assist junior logistics management specialist with all program requirements as required or requested by Logistics Manager.
