As a LOGISTICS INTERN, you will support Poet Biofuels schedulers, dispatch groups, and production facilities while interacting with our commercial business partners. One of the highlights of previous internships has been the real-world experience working alongside our permanent employees performing the same duties as expected upon permanent employment, as well as exploring potential opportunities for company efficiency and/or growth. This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS.

  • Create shipping orders and/or bills of lading for various products and methods of transportation
  • Forecast customer demand
  • Forecast Bioprocessing facility production and inventory
  • Dispatch shipments with partner carriers and verify delivery details
  • Communicate production, inventory, and shipment forecasts and status to both internal and external counterparties
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Candidates must have or be working towards a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a GPA that is reflective of the typical work performed
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results
  • Knowledge of the basics of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Willingness to grow through taking on challenging tasks and stretching capabilities
  • Comfort with asking questions and making recommendations to help self and others improve
