About the position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Logistics Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to provide full spectrum acquisition life-cycle logistics support to the Government Program Office (GPO).

Responsibilities

  • Provide full spectrum acquisition life-cycle logistics support to the Government Program Office (GPO).
  • Develop, analyze, and provide recommended changes to Independent Logistics Assessments (ILA), Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) and other required DoD 5000 series documentation.
  • Support the integrated logistics processes by developing support policies, procedures, and systems, while providing inputs to implementation guidance.
  • Provide direct support to the Government Program Support Manager and the Assistant Program Manager for Logistics.
  • Support the management of all logistics activities associated with life cycle management of weapon systems, subsystems, and equipment.
  • Develop specifications, Statements of Work, Performance Work Statements, and Data deliverables.
  • Directly support our nation's warfighters in the accomplishment of their highest priority missions.
  • Conduct technical proposal evaluations yielding inputs to USG positions with supporting rationale.
  • Conduct cost, schedule, technical risk analysis for contractor proposals.
  • Review Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Support GPO decision making process through Analyses of Alternatives (AoA).

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is a MUST.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience performing life-cycle systems engineering support, life-cycle logistics management and acquisition, and life-cycle support requirements.
  • Master level experience in acquisition of US Navy Aviation logistics systems from acquisition to disposal.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience operating in a multi-level protections environment.
  • A minimum 10 years' experience supporting complex maritime airborne sensor systems.
  • Ability to work well with an experienced government team.
