About The Position

The Logistics Engineer will be responsible for the supply chain concept planning and implementation, including desired economic realization (transportation, packaging, warehousing, intra-plant, inter-logistics, & customer delivery) for direct series parts/production to support the ZF Chassis Systems (CY) North America Plant(s) - OEM series production & new Acquisition RFQs. Planning, coordination, and implementation of concepts for logistics, materials, and information flows for Chassis Systems assembly operations by considering the principles of lean production. Economic calculation and cost optimization of concepts and processes projects in Logistics and Supply Chain management. Support the design and development of plant layouts by using simulation tools, and support the planning and procurement of logistical plant equipment. Implementation of KPI reporting standards for Logistics within all ZF Division C (Chassis) locations in North America, including retrieving data from plants, carrying out consistency checks, data tracking, consolidation, and reporting. Run logistical supplier development within the region for all chassis systems locations, including organization, participation, and conducting of logistics audits at suppliers, as well as definition, tracking, and support of action plans within the supply base. Initiation of counter measures in case of escalation. Support of the logistical development in North America within the field of profession developing and implementing improvement activities for the plants and within the supply chain, including application of ZFPS (ZF Production Systems). Participate in acquisition and implementation projects and execute packaging analysis and development for returnable packaging and one-way packaging to optimize economic results to support supply concept.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering field.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Excel Spreadsheets and calculation ability.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics or project management.
  • Solid PC skills, specifically MS Office and Excel.
  • Experience working in a global business environment with strong intercultural understanding.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, both domestically and internationally.
