About The Position

Driving support for the 5-day white water river trek program by loading, transporting, unloading, cleaning, and stocking of gear, staff, and participants with a vehicle and/or trailer. Key Responsibilities Support 5-day whitewater treks with vehicle and trailer driving gear, staff, and guests to and from river Load and unload gear, staff, and guests to and from river Assist in cleaning, packing, and inventory of gear needed for trek Maintain trek equipment in an organized and good working condition Ensure safety and quality standards remain at the highest levels Backup truck trailer in reverse over 200 feet with turns. Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit Driving permit.
  • Experience driving and backing loaded flatbed trailers.
  • Ability to stand, walk, hike, and drive and up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height/weight guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver License
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
  • High emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)
  • Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focus
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skills
  • Ability to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
