About The Position

AEVEX is seeking a Logistics Driver (CDL) responsible for the safe, timely, and compliant transportation of materials, components, and finished products between company facilities, suppliers, and customer locations. This role ensures the integrity and security of all transported items, with a strong emphasis on handling sensitive and high-value aerospace equipment. The Logistics Driver is responsible for adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies, including vehicle inspections, load securement, and hours-of-service requirements. This role also supports compliance with AS9100 standards by maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring traceability of materials, and preserving chain of custody throughout transport. This position works closely with warehouse, receiving, and logistics teams to coordinate pickups and deliveries, verify shipment documentation, and ensure materials are properly handled, loaded, and delivered in the same condition as received.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record in compliance with company and DOT requirements.
  • Exceptional driving and parking skills with extensive knowledge of traffic laws.
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations, including vehicle inspections, load securement, and hours-of-service rules.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment; certification preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix minor vehicle issues.
  • Basic understanding of shipping and logistics documentation (e.g., bills of lading, delivery receipts).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 principles, including documentation accuracy and traceability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks, navigate efficiently and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to lift and move materials in accordance with job requirements.
  • Demonstrates consistent punctuality.
  • Effectively organizes time and manages workload.
  • Collaborates well with colleagues and contributes positively to team dynamics.
  • Performs well under pressure while maintaining quality and focus.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required / AA preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
  • 2+ years of commercial driving experience, preferably in a logistics, manufacturing, or aerospace environment.
  • Experience handling and transporting sensitive or high-value equipment with attention to detail and care.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Certification (preferred)
  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Experience with hazardous materials transportation (DOT/IATA), if applicable.
  • Prior experience supporting regulated environments or audit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport materials, components, and finished goods between company facilities, suppliers, and customer locations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
  • Load, secure, and unload cargo using appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring proper load securement to prevent damage during transit.
  • Verify shipments against delivery documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and transfer records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain chain of custody and material traceability in accordance with AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure all materials are transported and delivered in the same condition as received, reporting any damage, discrepancies, or delays.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, receiving, and logistics personnel to ensure timely pickup and delivery of materials.
  • Accurately complete and submit delivery logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation.
  • Adhere to hours-of-service (HOS) requirements and maintain required driver logs.
  • Follow all company policies related to safety, security, and handling of sensitive aerospace equipment.
  • Assist with basic warehouse or material handling tasks, including staging, loading, and organizing materials, as needed.
  • Support compliance with internal and external audits by maintaining accurate and complete records.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
