About The Position

Under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor, the Logistics Driver will perform daily local deliveries and pick-ups to various locations to support internal and external customers. The Logistics Driver will also be responsible for the safety and proper transportation of in-house and customer materials such as orders, donations, mail and laundry in their custody such as proper stacking, wrapping, labeling, physical movement of materials/loading and unloading while driving and load planning.   • Ability to safely operate pallet jack and forklift.
  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Required: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving history.
  • Required: Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and climb in and out of a truck the majority of the workday.
  • Frequent bending, standing, lifting and sitting (driving).
  • Ability to endure all outside weather conditions and high noise levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Minimum one (1) year of work experience in a role requiring minimal supervision.
  • Preferred: Local truck driving experience.
  • Preferred: Three (3) years of truck driving experience

Responsibilities

  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.
  • Some travel to a variety of locations in the Las Vegas area and between Opportunity Village campuses.
  • Must be able to meet all requirements of OV vehicle policies and travel:
  • Between worksite locations
  • Within the community
  • Accurately complete pre-and-post shift inspection and preventative maintenance logs for assigned vehicle.
  • Assist with the loading of company vehicles; adhere to all safety requirements including proper lifting techniques, use of dollies, lift gates, use of seat belts and other equipment when moving material.
  • Based on contractual requirements and direction of Opportunity Village management, maintain the highest degree of security and control of customer confidential material collection.
  • Ensure the condition of the load and that it is securely fastened.
  • Assists in obtaining accurate inventory counts of goods stored on company property.
  • Follow the correct safety procedures when goods are being transported.
  • Responsible for accurate and legible completion of all documents such as service tickets, delivery tickets and customer documentation.
  • Drives a truck or van to make deliveries or pick-ups.
  • Prepares goods for transport and storage.
  • Assists in the organization of goods stored in the warehouse.
  • Communicate route variable with manager such as heavy traffic conditions, lag time with dock availability, lag time with customer specific needs and requests.
  • Process and accept credit card payments accurately and securely, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
  • Maintain clean and swept vehicle.
  • Assists in cleaning yard and dock space as needed.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.
