About The Position
The Logistics Dispatcher position is a critical role within our operations, located at 19431 South Santa Fe Avenue, Compton, CA. The primary responsibility of the dispatcher is to ensure the smooth and efficient management of freight deliveries and terminal operations. This includes securing appointments with terminals for empty terminations and managing import load outs, while also addressing any missed loads that may occur. The dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling deliveries with customers and coordinating drivers for freight deliveries, ensuring that all operations run seamlessly. In addition to scheduling and coordination, the dispatcher will assist drivers with operational issues that may arise during their routes. Maintaining regular communication with customers via email regarding container status and updates is essential, as is monitoring container status at ports and updating tracking information in Excel and the Transportation Management System (TMS). The dispatcher will also communicate with customers about freight details, delivery or pickup times, and any special handling requests that may be necessary. Planning and adjusting pre-determined routes as necessary is a key aspect of the role, accommodating any changes that may occur. The dispatcher will keep accurate records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, delivery, and pickup times. Additionally, performing various office duties and providing administrative support as needed will be part of the daily responsibilities.
