The Logistics & Delivery associate will be responsible for committing to a professional, team environment, provide assistance to fellow associates, facilitate freight from the freight room to its final destination, and enhancing the delivery and service of store merchandise in a customer’s home while providing world class customer service.

  • One to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Daily walk through every morning
  • Address fixtures and shelving that needs to be put away
  • Address stranded carts / flatbeds
  • Address and maintain organization of all fixtures, fixturing, and sign holders
  • Maintain Aisles for associates to walk down
  • Address garbage and sweep floors
  • Address and maintain sold and paid areas. Call customers if product has been in S&P for 7 days past the pick up date
  • When applicable fixturing may be transferred to and from offsite storage locations
  • Address organization needs by shop / products
  • Empty cardboard boxes / sweep floors
  • Address random fixturing, carts, pallets and flat beds
  • Aisles big enough to get pallets through
  • Teach and maintain the ILS system in backstocks
  • Facilitate freight from the freight room to its final destination on the second floor
  • When an assorted pallet is brought up it should be sorted onto U-boats immediately
  • Consistently check and communicate with the freight team throughout the day for any product that needs to be brought up
  • Notify applicable associates (SSM / Merchandiser) before transporting freight to the various departments
  • Firearms are to be transported to the gun room immediately upon arrival
  • Coordinate with the merchandise teams for assistance if an area receives a large quantity of freight
  • Work to clear freight room of all pallets each evening
  • Pallets are to be stacked according to size
  • Pallets that are too damaged to be reused should be disposed of in the trash compactor
  • Crates should be broken down and disposed of in the trash compactor
  • Larger items should be disposed of at the recycling center if they are metal and all others should be disposed of at the landfill. This should be done once a week.
  • If the pallets accumulate rapidly and disposal is needed contact G&L Pallets
  • Coordinate scheduling with Shop Managers and support for builds/moves
  • Establish product clearing expectations prior to the date of the event
  • Assembly/disassembly and movement of Opto walls, Lozier walls and Adams racking
  • Complete ownership of all wall building materials on 2nd mez
  • Customer Loadouts – Responsible for all Customer Loadouts
  • Ensure safe and proper loading and transport of merchandise to be delivered
  • Efficiently assemble service and/or deliver customer and store merchandise. This may include exercise machines, trampolines, basketball hoops, safes, grills, furniture, game tables, bicycles and all other Scheels merchandise
  • Troubleshoot and respond to customer delivery and equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store, customer equipment, and delivery trucks
  • Maintaining the vehicles should be the leader and budgeting for oil changes, tires, etc.
  • Execute quick and efficient ordering of parts and supplies while staying within designated budgets
  • Ensure a clean and professional appearance of the Scheels delivery trucks and delivery area in your store
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels policies and procedures
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical equations
  • Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, holidays, and scheduled training meetings
