About The Position

Oversees and coordinates transportation of product for EMP throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and overseas and is responsible for timely and accurate invoicing and receipt of bills from transporting suppliers.

Requirements

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, MRP/ERP system and QAD

Responsibilities

• Negotiate prices for transportation.
• Set up methods for transportation and third-party logistics providers on all inbound freight.
• Works with customs brokers and freight forwarders on international inbound freight.
• Maintains expedited freight log and seeks approvals when needed.
• Resolve issues with transportation suppliers which may include after-hours discussions.
• Schedules annual maintenance and maintains compliance inspections on company owned trailers.
• Occasionally schedule and set up any expedited freight if needed.
• Receive and vouch freight invoices and maintain monthly freight reports.
• Process necessary paperwork for freight invoices, debits and purchase orders.
