About The Position

Under the supervision of the VP of Sourcing and Quality Assurance, ensures that all import shipments move efficiently, on time, and at the best possible cost. Responsible for everything related to the movement and tracking of raw materials or finished products from overseas suppliers. May be involved in negotiation of ocean and air rates. Maintain accurate estimated dates of arrivals on many materials in transit at any one time. Troubleshoot any freight or logistical issues as necessary. Oversees all facets of US Customs imports and US Customs import compliance. Office (not warehouse) position.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience working in logistics or freight forwarding
• Experience working for a manufacturer, importer, or freight forwarder, with job experience handling shipments, invoices, deliveries, etc.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Office-Excel, Outlook, and Word)-specific to Excel, able to enter data quickly, use simple formulas, pivot tables, etc.
• Very strong organizational skills are a must-must have the ability to manage many shipments, documents, and information that is constantly changing
• Attention to detail is extremely important-there are many details involved with every step of execution of moving cargo, and all those details are important
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage many emergency situations as they arise with tact and speed
• Proven success managing competing demands and balancing multiple priorities while ensuring deadlines are met

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with US Customs and customs brokers is a plus
• College bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not necessary-years of relevant experience can be in lieu of a college degree
