The focus of the position will be to oversee the day-to-day movement of inbound and outbound material to meet the needs of external and internal customers, while adhering to strict cost control measures. This includes proper documentation, record keeping, adherence to customer purchase orders, departmental policy, and sound business practices. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in collaborating with others to perform logistic tasks within a team environment. Work experience with a privately held company will be beneficial.

Requirements

  • H.S Diploma
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of Transportation/Logistics, or Supply Chain experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem -solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize task.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Basic working knowledge of Planning/Purchasing/Accounts Receivables modules in ERP systems (MS Dynamics, AX preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of transportation services including International Export/Import, LTL, flatbed & time critical shipping activities.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk using a computer 80% of the time.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate, notify, and arrange the different carrier modes for parts orders in conjunction with customer purchase orders and instructions.
  • Determine proper mode of transportation from weight split table in AX and confirm details are correct where necessary.
  • Assist other departments in tracking, expediting, and estimating shipments in the most cost-effective manner, and meet service requirements.
  • Coordinate and communicate details efficiently between functional groups (plant, carrier, forwarder, reps, internal/external customers, etc..) to ensure cost effective and on-time deliveries for international and domestic shipments.
  • Accurately enter carrier pro numbers for truck shipments into ERP system.
  • Create bills of lading, and labels manually or through web site for Parts shipments for Part Sales, MTR, Ship directs, and V-jobs orders.
  • Contact 3rd party logistic companies or customers to request routings by phone, e-mail, or web site according to shipping instructions.
  • Contact 3rd party brokers with emergency orders and advise delivery requirements.
  • Deal directly with carriers for pick up arrangements.
  • Review carrier freight bills for rate, class, mileage, and discount compliance to negotiated rates. Through Medius, ensure the correct rates are charged and the company’s credit is not compromised for contested billings.
  • Process all claims and back-charges in a timely fashion and ensure they are resolved to UCC Environmental’s benefit.
  • File credit and damage claims with logistics and distribution partners.
  • File Bills of Lading and other important documents for quick reference by scanning, physically filing or handling by other means.
  • All other duties as assigned.
