About The Position

As Logistics Coordinator, you’ll support the Transportation Department and Managers in daily reporting, tracking, and coordination of Import/Export and Logistics program activities. You’ll provide support on company projects, enhance import and domestic transportation functions, and deliver a strong administrative skill set in a fast-paced, friendly environment. Attention to detail and a sense of urgency are critical as you manage conflicting priorities and communicate effectively across teams. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics/distribution concepts and practices, preferably in US Retail including footwear retailers
  • Experience working effectively in complex organizations, satisfying the needs of cross-functional teams, and often working under the pressure of competing priorities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write/create reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Demonstrated ability with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to navigate through specific web pages and retrieve reports to be handled in Excel
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Fluent in English
  • Highly motivated, a team player, and motivated self-starter
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to understand the priorities of numerous individuals in the context of the overall team and to prioritize own work accordingly, while maintaining excellent communications with respect to timelines for completing assignments

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily routing processes to achieve the highest transportation service level at the lowest possible cost through correct carrier, mode, and route selections
  • Track, schedule, and report status of import containers, working with internal groups and external vendors
  • Audit and process invoices with third-party vendors, ensuring accurate import document processing
  • Prepare and create export documents, and track/report status or changes of orders with third-party vendors
  • Research freight charges and provide necessary documentation or data to support systems for other functional areas
  • Maintain accurate use of freight payment rules to ensure payments are applied to the correct G/L account
  • Assist in the creation and publication of transportation financials
  • Resolve issues and solve problems regarding transportation with customer service, purchasing, warehousing operations, manufacturing, vendors, and carriers
  • Contribute to daily/monthly reporting and support key operational metrics
  • Identify areas of opportunity and innovation to reduce costs without jeopardizing service
  • Act as a liaison between Merchants, Customer Service, Warehouses, Vendors, and Carriers
  • Compile historical shipping information to support trend monitoring
  • Review Direct Ship customer requirements and collaborate with Customer Experience/Customer Compliance to update Shipping guides as needed
  • Provide training to internal partners on key logistics processes and Direct Ship customer requirements
  • Resolve service failures and help implement processes for continual improvement
