About The Position

Clemson Marina is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, interacting with customers, and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly. In this position, you will support a variety of marina operations, including coordinating boat movements and operating equipment such as forklifts and tractors. You’ll also contribute to general property upkeep and light maintenance projects to help maintain a safe and well-kept facility. This role also includes supporting daily administrative tasks such as completing routine reports, using marina systems, and assisting in the ship store as needed. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient day-to-day operations. Success in this position requires attention to detail, comfort with basic computer systems, and the ability to safely and confidently operate marina equipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in operating heavy equipment (e.g., tractors), with any prior personal or limited professional experience desirable.
  • Basic mechanical skills with the ability to effectively use simple hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Positive attitude, dependability, and reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and assist customers in a variety of situations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards, along with a clear background check and drug screening.
  • Availability to work full weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in safely operating heavy equipment.
  • Experience with trailering and towing operations.
  • Knowledge of boat handling, storage procedures, and boating safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift and/or tractor to launch and retrieve boats, ensuring proper handling, placement, and safe transition to and from the water.
  • Conduct in-water boat movements.
  • Use applications such as Lightspeed and SpeedyDock to review launch schedules, access customer information, and support daily operations.
  • Complete daily inspections and routine maintenance of the equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.
  • Assist with rental coordination and customer check-in/check-out processes during peak times.
  • Support ship store operations including cashiering, processing transactions, and assisting customers.
  • Perform other marina-related duties as needed, such as dock maintenance, fueling operations, general property upkeep.
  • Complete end-of-day reports and operational documentation, including fuel logs and other required administrative tasks.
  • Assist with the organization and maintenance of storage areas, keeping them clean and orderly.
  • Oversees departmental responsibilities and facilitates operations in the absence of the Operations Manager, consulting leadership as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, providing guidance, and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate effectively with the sales and service departments to achieve broad objectives across the facility.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or operational issues to the Operations Manager promptly.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and safety standards.
  • Assist with occasional onsite and offsite promotional events and boat shows, including setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Any additional duties assigned for success.
