In this position, you will be providing customer service and operational support, which includes taking customers orders, communicating with our vendor network of airlines, cargo handlers, and pickup / delivery agents, giving pricing information, performing consultative sales to customers, explaining services and benefits to customers, suggesting alternative solutions, and resolving problems competently and appropriately. JOB SUMMARY The role provides direct, on-demand customer service and shipment oversight in the expedited transportation sector. Responsibilities include tracking ground and air freight, coordinating with carriers and drivers, maintaining communication with stakeholders, managing shipment documentation, and supporting dispatch and bid processes in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Track all dispatched ground and air freight shipments to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
  • Communicate proactively with drivers via phone, email, and text every 1–2 hours to confirm status and relay updates
  • Coordinate with logistics coordinators to notify customers of shipment delays
  • Confirm load security and collect freight images and documentation at pickup
  • Ensure proof of delivery is submitted, TMS is updated, and paperwork is routed to accounting
  • Set up carriers on satellite tracking applications and confirm tracking is active
  • Manage direct communication with customers, vendors, carriers, and drivers
  • Assist with answering incoming calls, including quoting bids for new shipments
  • Support dispatch by learning how to build jobs and provide backup assistance as needed
  • Handle heavy email and phone correspondence and perform additional duties as assigned
  • Experience in expedited transportation required; exceptional entry-level candidates may be considered
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and information retention abilities
