About The Position

Persistent Systems is looking for a Logistics Associate. You will be responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments at Persistent Systems’ New York City headquarters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with packaging and shipping product and other valuable goods
  • Experience in a warehouse/storeroom, with knowledge of warehouse functions
  • General knowledge of legal and safety procedures for handling of goods
  • Literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with information management systems: ERP/MRP
  • Knowledge of shipping integrated systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL - Domestics and International
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Shipping and receiving all packages, including accepting and signing for deliveries from distributors, as well as organizing and planning outbound orders within our ERP system.
  • Maintaining warehouse inventory and organization, including sorting materials according to characteristics such as size, type, style, and product code under FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures; conducting daily inventory of products, conducting cycle counts, and reporting data to the Logistics Lead and or Inventory Analyst.
  • Promptly receiving in deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables within the 24-hour window
  • Maintains accurate reporting of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
  • Picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders loading the contents to each package that is shipped through the ERP system
  • Monitoring warehouse jobs related to customer orders – kitting product from production
  • Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and replenishing inventory as needed
  • Documenting and maintaining shipping and receiving logs
