JOB PURPOSE Under the supervision of the logistics officer, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient tacking of cargo, and oversight of port operations. The duties includes but not limited to: coordinating with partners to receive, compile, consolidate and allocate dispatches; coordinating vessel arrivals and departures; allocation of resources (transport vehicles, port personnel, etc) for cargo handling operations; supervising cargo loading and unloading processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer requirements ; handling of cargo transfers to storage or transportation; coordination of vessel schedules, docking, and documentation, etc. The role also involves reviewing and assessing warehousing and transportation conditions to ensure standards are met. Additionally, the incumbent will verify that notifications are complete, supporting efficient and effective logistics operations. In addition, the incumbent is required to manage a range of warehouse activities including safeguarding of commodities and supplies and ensuring well-organized warehousing and storage service in compliance with WFP warehouse guidelines.
