The Logistics Assistant position ensures that customer needs are met via efficient and accurate inventory management, and on-time delivery. The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for both inbound and outbound shipments, as well as materials management within the facility. The role also supports the Product Operations Department by providing for its materials requirements. In partnership with departmental management, this position supports the domestic and international shipping processes. This position will be a collaborative role, and will work effectively with cross functional teams, couriers, vendors, and customers directly. Communication between this role and other collaborators will be professional, timely, and affable.

Requirements

  • AA degree preferred or High School education with 2 years of relevant experience or combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with an ERP system (inventory and order preparation software) a plus
  • IATA or FedEx Dangerous Goods certificate (preferred)
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office
  • Ability to work in a team laboratory environment with knowledge or familiarity with scientific terminology.
  • Experience with order fulfillment, outbound shipping, and inventory control. international export experience a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with GLP a plus
  • Exposure to working with cryopreserved inventories a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Picks, packs, verifies, and ships products/inventory to customers. Responsible for the fulfillment of internal inventory transfers.
  • Receives and replenishes all lab supplies and continually monitors and manages inventory levels in storage areas and laboratories to ensure adequate supplies for daily operations.
  • Assists with tasks necessary for product shipment, inventory control, and record-keeping.
  • Ensures adequate inventory levels of critical supplies through regular conduct of inventory control procedures, including recommending inventory levels and maintaining them through inventory business control procedures, such as spot checks, cycle counting and annual inventory counts.
  • Processes international sales orders and shipping.
  • Uses safe handling of dry ice and liquid nitrogen.
  • Monitors and maintains general cleanliness and organization of the receiving and storage areas.
