About The Position

Logistics Associate II will be assigned to work in either the Receiving Area or central supply. This role performs the daily logistics work activities as assigned by their supervisor or manager. For central supply associates, this work includes ordering and replenishing supplies to clinical areas, inventory maintenance within Central Supply, and picking ad-hoc supply requests. For receiving dock associates, this work would consist of receiving and delivering packages and other orders that arrive on the hospital dock. This position is accountable for performing assigned tasks both accurately and efficiently. Because of high visibility, customer service is critical to meet customer requirements and daily demand within the hospital. It is imperative that the employee is personally accountable and can work in self-managed teams by adhering to the hospital and departmental policies. Finally, this position is expected to be capable of utilizing the various technology applications/software (Workday, Bear Tracks, etc.), provide first-step resolution to open issues, elevate opportunities for improvement to a supervisor, work within a team environment, and have excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • High school level of coursework with attainment of a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and perform limited mathematical operations.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to perform data entry and comfortable utilizing technology like ERP, Microsoft applications, etc.
  • Ability to operate potentially hazardous mechanical loading equipment, such as electric power pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of work experience performing logistics-related functions is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support urgent deliveries and other ad-hoc requests as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  • Respond to customer service requests in a timely fashion and escalate more severe issues to the supervisor or manager for resolution.
  • Fills in for other duties across the supply chain operations team as needed.
  • Maintains order and cleanliness in the areas worked and serviced by ensuring proper space allocation, item arrangement, and timely removal of unnecessary items.
  • Observe and enforce departmental and general hospital policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safety and security measures. Conducts and/or attends in-service training programs as directed by supervisor or manager.
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and safe use of materials handling equipment, both manual and powered, is required.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles, with a customer service focus on innovation, service excellence, and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.
  • Other job functions as assigned.
  • Perform daily scanning and picking/replenishment activities for assigned par locations. General maintenance of assigned par locations, including bin organization, stockout management, and substitute item tagging, is expected.
  • Perform assigned cycle counts and inventory adjustments within Central Supply to maintain accurate inventory levels. Associates will prep and participate in annual physical inventory exercises as needed.
  • Put away inventory to central supply and ensure substitute items are logged appropriately.
  • Utilize ERP to receive all packages and deliveries that arrive on the receiving dock. Research and resolve deliveries that arrive without purchase orders or complete information. Tag and sort all deliveries based on deliver-to location.
  • Deliver packages to clinical and non-clinical departments as assigned by the manager and log all deliveries and signatures in BearTracks (chain of custody software).
  • Communicate with couriers regarding off-site deliveries and investigations of missing packages.
