About The Position
The Logistics Associate is responsible for supporting the operations of the Distribution & Logistics Department for Stanford Health Care (SHC) and Stanford Medicine Children's Health (SMCH). This role involves participating in various activities and duties related to the breakout, storage, and return of clean and sterile items used in both inpatient and surgical settings. The Logistics Associate will perform basic order entry, customer service, inventory management, supply and linen replenishment, cart builds, and maintain relevant records. Additionally, the associate will engage in departmental patient safety and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with all Joint Commission Requirements and safety standards. In this position, employees are expected to assist with the training and orientation of new staff, replenish all Supply Chain managed stocking locations, and maintain a fill accuracy rate of 100% as verified by department audits. The Logistics Associate will inventory and restock all Supply Chain managed locations, including surgical suites and supply rooms, using a mobile handheld device. The role requires the ability to assess and respond to urgent requests efficiently and effectively, while also maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Logistics Associate will manage information using appropriate manual or electronic systems, report discrepancies to the Lead/Supervisor, and ensure timely delivery and pick-up of supplies and equipment. This position requires collaboration with peers to achieve departmental goals and fulfill the organization's vision, while adhering to policies and procedures regarding inventory management and product returns. The associate will also be responsible for generating purchase requisitions and entering data into electronic databases, ensuring proper stock rotation to prevent expired products from being used in clinical settings.
