About The Position

As a Logistics & Transportation Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to assist Senior Level Logistic and Transportation professionals. You will interpret the Master Program Schedule and collaborate daily with Prod Ops for the preparation of critical moves. Your role will involve utilizing a tracking tool to identify, locate, and schedule Ground Support Equipment movements across the enterprise. You will communicate and collaborate with the transportation scheduler to ensure internal and external moves are enacted on. Additionally, you will support the logistics of Solid Rocket Boosters movement into and out of storage, assist teams that perform internal moves, lifts to GSE, execute external/supplier or site-to-site moves, and maintain contracts for trucking, lifts, and other moves. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.

Requirements

  • Completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment.
  • Minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application.
  • Valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship in Alabama.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university.
  • Plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2026.
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Level Logistic and Transportation professionals.

  • Communicate and collaborate with transportation scheduler to ensure internal and external moves are enacted on.

  • Support teams that perform internal moves, lifts to GSE, execute external/supplier or site to site moves, and maintain contracts for trucking, lifts, and other moves.
  • Support one or more experienced business professionals in performance of assignments.
  • Spend time shadowing actual operations and have unique assignments that support larger projects.
