About The Position

Position Summary: The Logistics and Materials Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end flow of goods, optimizing transportation, storage, and inventory levels to ensure on-time delivery. They coordinate with vendors and operational departments, track shipments, maintain inventory records, and handle logistics software, focusing on cost-effective, safe transport, and compliance. Key requirements include proficiency in supply chain software, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of procurement. Scope and Function: Coordinate with production staff and end customers to ensure on time and cost-effective delivery of goods Work with freight brokers and forwarders to find the most efficient and cost-effective method of shipping products (LTL, FTL, premium etc.) Coordinate with production operations to package and cube freight for most efficient trailer utilization Prepare necessary documentation for international shipments and arrange appropriate freight needs Coordinate freight with our 3rd party Canadian manufacturing partner Monthly reporting of shipment vs freight dollar efficiency Lead inventory planning and control processes. Analyze, verify, and rectify inventory counts and physical inventory as required. Alert management of out of stock or low stock levels as discovered. Foster, communicate, and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risks. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Organizational skills
  • Proficiency in ERP software and MS office (Excel)
  • Analytical skills – Ability to define problems, collect date, establish facts, and draw conclusions as related to the job.

  • Understanding of freight rates, schedules and tariffs

  • Regular Full-time attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Ability Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Associate’s degree in business or related field – Minimum 3-5 years freight, logistics and transportation experience to include international shipping and trade compliance.
  • Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or inventory management.

  • Freight brokerage or customs broker experience a plus
