About The Position

The Logistics and Distribution Technician III at WellSpan Health in York, PA, performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution. This includes issuing supplies, maintaining inventories, compiling stock records, receiving, preparing items for shipment and/or return to vendor, and performing data entry into various systems. The technician investigates and reconciles data issues to ensure reporting and accounting accuracy, collects and compiles data, performs data analysis, prepares and presents reports, and recommends changes based on analysis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.
  • Less than 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks to support the system-wide mission of Logistics and Distribution including issuing supplies, maintaining inventories, and compiling stock records.
  • Receives and prepares items for shipment and/or return to vendor.
  • Collects and compiles data, performs data analysis, prepares and presents reports, and recommends changes based on analysis.
  • Assists in implementing changes.
  • Participates in evaluation of tools, software, upgrades, etc.
  • Processes requisitions/orders in a timely and accurate fashion to support ongoing demand.
  • Reviews orders for accuracy.
  • Prepares, reviews, and edits purchase orders to ensure accuracy when stock items reach reorder point.
  • Communicates expected delivery dates to vendors and maintains contact regarding status of purchase orders and product changes.
  • Coordinates with vendors to ensure delivery dates and logistics requirements are met.
  • Processes change orders and notifies vendors of material and quantity requirement revisions.
  • Works with vendors to find appropriate substitute items if stock levels become critical.
  • Confirms suitability with the appropriate buyer or clinician if necessary.
  • Organizes and maintains records pertinent to a perpetual inventory, min/max stock levels, quantity issues, and other data.
  • Modifies quotas or inventories as necessary.
  • Works with department managers to coordinate requisitioning, ordering, and distribution of inventoried materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Controls ordering and requisitioning process to ensure inventory levels are in keeping with usage.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, and safety standards.
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers and fosters teamwork.
  • Practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
  • Compiles data for and prepares regularly scheduled or special reports, analyses, and statements.
